Before you start

You need an approved account name. If you don't have one yet, join the Discord and apply in #apply (how it works). The server address is in the Discord's #server-info channel once you are approved.

Install (Windows)

  1. Download the latest player build: RO3Emu-win-x64.zip.
  2. Extract the whole zip to its own folder, for example C:\RO3Emu. Not inside the game folder.
  3. In that folder, click the address bar, type cmd and press Enter.
  4. Type RO3Emu.exe join <address> with the address from #server-info, and press Enter.
    • The first time, it asks for your Ragnarok 3 folder (the one with ro3.exe) or offers to download the game, about 24 GB.
    • If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway.
  5. Log in with your approved account name and choose a password. Remember it: that first login creates your account.

Every time after: run the same command. Tip: make a shortcut. When a new build is announced, download the zip again and extract it over your old folder. Your characters stay on the server.

Your first day

  • Follow the story quests. They introduce the game's systems, and every finished story chapter pays 500 Pass EXP.
  • Type /pass in chat to see today's three challenges. Each pays 20 Crystals. /pass week shows the seven weekly challenges, worth 80 Crystals each.
  • Join MVP fights. Your first three a day pay 20 Crystals each, and every fight can drop refine materials and Blessed Ores.
  • Party up. Several challenges count monsters defeated in a party. Use #party-finder on the Discord.
  • Pick a build path when you change jobs. The classes page lists what each path learns.

House rules on Sol RO3

  • A base level-up refills your HP and SP, like classic RO.
  • Crystals cannot be bought. See Crystals and shops for how to earn them.
  • The Crystal Shop's power items have weekly limits, so nobody can skip the grind.

Stuck?

  • Card tutorial: the quest "Complete the Commission" asks you to socket an armor card. If you have none, ask a GM in #help and you get a Card: Poring.
  • Something broken? Run RO3Emu.exe diag and post the zip it makes in #bug-reports.
  • Forgot your password? Ask in #help. An admin resets it and your next login sets a new one.
